The Jury's Motivation

The divided jury has decided to give the main prize of the
Critic's Week to Reindeer Spotting – Escape from Santaland
by Joonas Nevonen (Finland 2010).
The way the film portrays the world of drugs from the inside,
gives a new dimension of a social problem and will open a necessary discussion in our society. Possibly for the first time, cinema reflects
a slice of life from the other side.
The jury was strongly divided on aesthetic and moral issues of the film.

The jury wishes to give a special mention to two films ex aequo: Blood Calls You by Lind Thorgren (Sweden 2010) and The Furious Force of Ryhmes by Joshua Atesh Litle (France/USA 2010) for their universal values.
