How do we talk about something we learned to keep quiet about? It means taking apart an entire family story characterised by domination. For the two brothers, Olivier and Patrick, this endeavour begins with the return to their childhood home, where the younger of the two was abused by their sister. Together, they try to understand the origin of this incest, but they are less interested in pointing out responsibility than in acknowledging guilt. While chipping away at the past, they even delve in the Genesis, the founding myth of incest.

Used in a simplistic but highly efficient way, the camera follows the two brothers’ moral search to every nook and cranny of the house, relentlessly seeking a fresh look at the old, hackneyed walls. Because it is indeed in the few cracks, rendered invisible until then, where the hint of an answer lies. In the midst of this extremely narrow setting, Olivier and Patrick pore over the past, questioning and repeating it until their unanimous story crumbles. Throughout their conversations that sometimes turn into disputes, sometimes into prophecies, the two brothers link the whispers of their discreet story to a much larger mythology, which was carefully maintained by millennia of silence.
